It’s all about simplicity.
This recipe is about as simple and delicate as it gets. Two ingredients, both aromatic and light, garnished with a lemon peel. I’m not sure it gets any simpler than that. Credit goes to Philip Duff – and unfortunately I’m not quite sure the backstory for this one.
The flavor of this drink is very soft and light – it pairs two easy overshadowed, aromatic flavors in a glass and they both shine through brilliantly. I felt like in some ways, it reminded be of a gentler, softer old fashioned. It’s no secret I’m a big fan of Genever – so this one might just be joining our “go to” list!

Ingredients
- 2 oz Genever
- 1 oz St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur
- 1 each Lemon Twist for garnish
Instructions
- Fill a mixing glass with ice.
- Add the genever and elderflower liqueur, and stir to chill and dilute.
- Strain into a rocks glass prepared with ice.
- Garnish with the lemon twist.
