In today’s Episode…
We’re chatting with Steven Van Gucht from Diep 9 Genever.
Listen to the Episode to Learn:
- What Genever has to do with the growth of Belgium’s Craft beer industry
- The difference between Oude (Old) Genever and Jonge (Young) Genever
- How to drink Genever like a Belgian
- And perhaps most importantly… how do you pronounce “Genever” ???
Update: A Quick Clarification from Steven:
“In the episode I said when the English tried to replicate Genever, they created “Bathtub Gin”. That’s actually the wrong term – “Bathtub Gin” is actually a term from Prohibition much later (and in the US) when people tried to replicate Dutch Gin in their bathtub. Actually, the eventual result of the English’s attempt to create Genever was actually “Old Tom Gin”
