Not quite the Blood and Sand
It’s based on the Blood and Sand cocktail, and named after the lead actor in the movie of the same name. (Despite my best efforts, Chris did not like my idea to name it “Blood and Smoke”.)
Chris has replaced the Scotch with Mescal – and as a result, the drink takes on a distinctly smoky flavor. The blood orange juice has been replaced with cherry heering, which was definitely a different flavor, but worked really well with the mescal backbone.
Definitely give this one a try if you’re a mescal lover or anyone who enjoys a smoky scotch – you wont be disappointed!
