When I received a bottle of Fernet Branca Menta in the mail a few weeks ago I was immediately excited.  Not surprisingly, (like most other bartenders), I love Fernet Branca – and the idea of its minty counterpart definitely piqued my curiosity.  I was definitely not disappointed!

I decided to make this cocktail – a variation on the Last Word.  My inspiration came from a cocktail I used to make for a regular at a bar where I used to work. He liked the Last Word with Amaro Menta, so that seemed like a perfect idea here.

The Fernet Branca Menta definitely has a sweeter profile than the Green Chartreuse, so I had to make some adjustments to the proportions to account for that.  But I was really happy with the final product!

P.s.

This picture stinks! I am so bummed I didn’t get a better one, but the cocktail was so good I rushed it so I could drink the darn thing. Whoops 🙂

The Last Menta

This cocktail is a variation on the classic Last Word cocktail, with a bright minty finish.
