When I received a bottle of Fernet Branca Menta in the mail a few weeks ago I was immediately excited. Not surprisingly, (like most other bartenders), I love Fernet Branca – and the idea of its minty counterpart definitely piqued my curiosity. I was definitely not disappointed!
I decided to make this cocktail – a variation on the Last Word. My inspiration came from a cocktail I used to make for a regular at a bar where I used to work. He liked the Last Word with Amaro Menta, so that seemed like a perfect idea here.
The Fernet Branca Menta definitely has a sweeter profile than the Green Chartreuse, so I had to make some adjustments to the proportions to account for that. But I was really happy with the final product!
This picture stinks! I am so bummed I didn’t get a better one, but the cocktail was so good I rushed it so I could drink the darn thing. Whoops
The four links (Tanqueray gin, Menta, Maraschino, and lime juice) do not lead anywhere.
Hmm, that’s not good! Thanks Leather Engineer for pointing this out, I’ll get right on it! 🙂
