How did you “weather the storm” of the 2009 Angostura bitters shortage or the 2014 Limepocalypse? Are there any products you’re currently struggling to get? Let us know in the comments!
Japanese whisky and certain varieties of mezcal (arroqueno in particular).
This is a little late, but I had just turned 21 in 2014 and without hesitation I dove right into craft cocktails. That was the first time I had ever bought limes on my own and I couldn’t believe how expensive they were! Turned me off of cocktails with lime for a while until I happened to notice they had come down quite a bit in price.
So yeah, the Limepocalypse was my first introduction into lime cocktails and buying limes in general. Great to know it was a freak scenario!
Oh no – what a frustrating time to get started! Glad to see you’re back now that limes have become more accessible again.
