Applying for Management Jobs:
This week we’re talking all about what happens next, after you’re ready to start actually applying. Once your resume is ready and your online presence is sparkly clean (or at least, you’re happy with it), it’s time to start applying!
- Step 1: Find out who’s hiring. Leverage your local bartender associations, your network, and especially any sales reps you know.
- Step 2: Cull the herd. Figure out where you actually want to work and what sort of bar you want to work in. Narrow down your list accordingly.
- Step 3: Build Rapport: Don’t be a stranger! Here are some great ideas for building rapport before handing over your resume.
- Step 4: Tailor your Resume: How to polish it up to make the best impression.
- Step 5: Submit your Resume: How are you going to get your resume into the right hands, and not get lost in the shuffle?
- Step 6: Follow up! Don’t get forgotten – follow up, but don’t be weird about it.
