In today’s Episode…
We’re tackling one of the tougher problems that bar managers and owners face: finding great staff. From what we’re hearing on the grapevine, labor markets are tighter than ever for bars and restaurants, and it’s a real challenge to find hard-working people who are willing to work in hospitality.
This week we’re discussing some of the things you can do as a hiring manager to find great people – even in such tight markets.
Stuff we Mentioned:
Things to Consider:
- What is your bar / restaurant’s reputation and culture?
- How can you help your staff make more money?
- Think creatively about hiring outside the hospitality industry. If there are any colleges nearby, reach out to their Career Services centers.
- Get the word out about your open positions: use your local Bartender Guild, Facebook groups, your own Facebook page and even your own personal Facebook network.
