Remember when Cucumbers were Cool?

Remember, like, 5 years ago when every single (friggin) cocktail had a cucumber in it? Muddled cucumbers, cucumber ribbons, cucumber coins floating on top … (Hendrick’s must have been thrilled!) They were very much “in style” – and some of the cocktails were truly delicious.

But then cucumbers went cold. Eclipsed by ginger, St. Germaine and Mezcal, they slowly fell off cocktail menus and went back to their day jobs – in sandwiches and salads and such.

WE GOT YOU, CUCUMBER.

But today, we’re bring back the cucumber with this tasty drink – also featuring the (brand new) Ginger Sour from The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley. It’s refreshing with a sweet citrus flavor and perfumed from the Hophead vodka and cucumber. The ginger plays nicely in the background but doesn’t overshadow the cucumber (something unusual for cucumber for sure!)

Finally, Chris topped it off with a beautiful salted cucumber ribbon garnish, letting the poor cucumber have its day in the limelight* once again.

Dad Joke Alert

One more reason for the name? “It’s so good, you could throw a couple back!”  according to Chris. (Facepalm). I think fatherhood has officially sunk in!

* See what I did there?
